Smart Girl

While not talking too much yet, Quinn is showing what words she's learning. Yesterday I asked her (out of the blue) "Where's your head?" and she immediately pointed to her head. I quickly followed up with "your foot? leg? belly? ears? hand?" and she pointed to each. We've been telling her body parts for months, but she's finally decided to prove that she's been listening.

She's has to be in the mood for it though, and hasn't agreed to show it off for anyone else yet. But today's additions included her hair, arm, pants, shirt and socks.

As for words, she's continued saying "mum" in babble form, but also says it when she sees me as well as Kevin. "Dad" is still elusive. She also says "mum-mum" in reference to her rice rusk snacks. The babble sound "ba" now also includes "what does a sheep say?"; she also growls for what a bear says. "Boo" is also in use, both for a peek-a-boo game and for her book Does a Cow Say Boo?. She's having trouble making other animal sounds, but she's at least making an attempt at them instead of just staring at us like we're nuts.
