Capturing the memories

Although photography is a part-time hobby of mine, I haven't given it enough effort to get 'good' at it, so we've pulled in some outside help to get some quality snapshots of this time in our lives.

First up was a photo session with Tracy Patterson, a great gift from Mom (thanks Mom!). At the last minute, we decided to add in a maternity session because we didn't have many pictures of Mandy pregnant.

Tracy did a great job incorporating some of the 'interesting' textures and patterns of the wallpaper left by the previous owners in our new house.

The rest of the maternity shots can be viewed on Tracy's website.

Five days after Quinn arrived, Tracy returned to take some photos of the main attraction. Unfortuntately, Quinn was not in the most happy of moods for her photo session so there was an abundance of crying throughout. Despite Quinn's reluctance to model, Tracy did a fine job of extracting some great pictures.

The rest of the session is on Tracy's website.

Two weeks later, we brought in another photographer, Melissa Gidney. We first met Melissa when in Kauai for Cristi & Chris' wedding last year, and were both stunned with how good the wedding photos were. Ever since then, I've periodically taken a look at her website and have always been impressed with the quality of the photos. So I definitely wanted her to take some photos of Quinn and am ecstatic with the results so far.

Melissa's posted some 'sneak peeks' of her favourites on her blog, and we're anxiously awaiting the CD containing the rest.
