Nesting

Having finally moved into the new house, the nursery is on high-priority. Kevin has been a champ, spending his evenings after work prepping the baby's bedroom. Scrubbing the walls & previously carpeted wood floors, washing the curtains, painting the ceiling & walls (3 coats needed), and installing a new light fixture. Next up is safety concerns, so his new project is replacing the electrical outlets & light switches. Okay, the light switch is purely cosmetic, but the outlets will be tamper proof at least.

My contribution will be decorating the fresh walls with baby-enticing vinyl graphics, and determining furniture placement. Speaking of which, almost all of the furniture is borrowed from very kind friends & relatives: cradle, crib, lamp, change table and possibly an antique rocking chair. Add to that a nicely refurbished dresser, painted & fixed up by Grandma-to-be Sandi. Our only task left is to shop for all the colourful accessories and contents to fill up the room.

Of course, spending our time & energies on the Tadpole have put furniture buying for the rest of the house on the back burner. So if you come to visit, we apologize in advance for the folding chairs you'll likely end up sitting on. :)
